Exporting your product to Google Base

Google Base simple slogan aptly describes the services it offers “Post it on Base, find it in Google.” every item, product or services posted and accepted into Google Base will be found in Google search, usually withing a few hours, and quite high up on the first page of search result, much faster than urls submitted to Google search directly. Submitting your product to Google Base is a must if you want to take advantage of the free traffic Google could drive to your website.

To make submitting your product to Google Base, Boss Cart Premium contains Google Base exporter tool, it makes uploading all product in your shop to Google Base very easy. The step-by-step guide below shows how to use Boss Cart Premium’s built in tool to export product to Base.

If FTP Support is enabled

  1. Login to the admin panel using http://www.yoursite.com/shopkeeper/login.php
    1. Enter your administrator username in username text box
    2. Enter your password in password text box
  2. In the main page Click on 'Uploader Tools'
  3. Click on 'Google Base Uploader(FTP)'
  4. Enter your ftp username and password for Google Base .
    1. If you have not yet created ftp account Click http://base.google.com/base/ftpsettings to create an account
    2. If you are uploading fo the first time please Click http://base.google.com/base/newfeed?ensureUrlPresent To register the feed ( Data feed filename should be products.txt )
    3. Enter the ftp username and password.
  5. Click on Send to google
  6. You should get a feedback from Google Base letting you know the upload is successful..


If FTP Support is not enabled

  1. Login to the admin panel using http://www.yoursite.com/shopkeeper/login.php
    1. Enter your administrator username in username text box
    2. Enter your password in password text box
  2. In the main page Click on 'Uploader Tools'
  3. Click on 'CSV Uploader'
  4. Click on 'Download tab delimated Data for google base'
  5. Save the file that is being downloaded
  6. Go to Google Base login page and login to your Base account.
  7. Browse to Data Feeds, Select New Data Feeds.
  8. You need to complete the form in this page, pay particular attention to the name you call the data feed filename, it must be the exact name of the data feed filename you downloaded and saved.
  9. Click on Manual upload file.
  10. Browse to your computer and select the file you downloaded and saved and you are done. You should get a feedback from Google Base letting you know the upload is successful..
